ABB IRB 1400, S4C+ Controller
The later version of ABB IRB 1400 robot is a compact, fast and flexible robot designed primarily for welding, gluing, light pick and place work. The robot has an excellent reputation as a reliable and productive robot and has been installed around the world in hundreds of installations. The arm design is well balanced, durable and remained virtually unchanged for over 10 years, a testament to how well it was specified in the first place.
The S4C control cabinet is significantly smaller than its predecessor and is widely recognised for its reliability and the stability of its software. Using easy to integrate I/O cards the S4C is an excellent system.
The IRB 1400 is well adapted to welding applications including TIG and MIG. It can be installed with analogue I/O cards and welding software that allow simple but precise control of weave, seam tracking, current, gas, water, wire feed etc. Using the ABB RAPID programming language the robot is also straightforward and intuitive to program.
